The current Toyota Corona Exiv model first appeared in 1993, although it carries the Corona name there is nothing sedan about its mechanical components, which are in fact sourced from the Celica.
It is, in other words, a 4-door version of the Toyota Celica. The most eye-catching model in this series is the FF 2-wheel drive Toyota Corona Exiv 200GT.
The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 3S-GE unit is similar to the Celica’s and produces up to 177hp and 141.0 lb-ft of torque.
Fitted with front struts like the Celica, its suspension is the same as the Celica’s top grade front-wheel drive model, the Toyota Celica SS-II. If you can master its driving technique, this car is capable of competing equally with poorer sports cars on winding roads.
